Trusted
By selling to Marcus’ Bikes you can avoid the usual Facebook & Ebay scammers. We are a well established business with 500+ reviews across Google & Trustpilot. We like to think our reviews speak for themselves - you can certainly sell to us with confidence.
Send us your bike's details via the form above - including the brand, model, age and condition, along with a few photos via email or WhatsApp. We'll come back to you with a fair, pre-agreed price, as quickly as possible. If you're happy, you can drop your bike off at our Clapham store, or arrange nationwide collection, and we'll pay you by bank transfer on the spot.
We’ll always honour our pre-agreed price, and you’re able to sell your bike safely for a fair price.
It depends on the brand, original retail price, age and condition. As a guide, we buy road bikes that cost at least £600 when they’re brand new and prefer to buy from reputable brands.
Send us the details and we'll give you a straight, no-obligation valuation - we don’t do lowballing or last-minute renegotiating once you arrive.
We're selective, which is how we're able to offer fair prices. We prefer to buy road bikes from established, reputable brands costing £600+ when new.
We won’t buy road bikes that are over 9 years old, and we’ll only buy bikes that have no structural damage.
General wear and tear from normal use is fine, and that's to be expected on any used bike.
What we can't accept is structural damage (cracked frames, bent forks, etc.).
If you're not sure whether your bike qualifies, send us photos and we'll let you know honestly before you make the trip.
Instantly.
Once you're happy with the price, we pay by bank transfer on the spot.
Whether you drop the bike off in Clapham or we collect it, you won’t be waiting days for a cheque or a marketplace buyer to pay up.
Yes, we buy road bikes from sellers across the UK, not just London.
You can post your bike's details for a quote, and we offer nationwide collection as well as in-store drop-off at our Clapham shop.
FAQs: Selling Your Road Bike
Yes, Bromptons are the one brand we make an exception for. While we’d normally only buy bikes less than 9 years old, we'll consider Bromptons of any age, as long as they're in good working order.
It truly depends on the model, age, original spec and condition. However, a well-maintained Brompton tends to hold its value better than most bikes, which usually means a good resale price for you. Fill in the form above and send us the details and photos, we’ll give you a fair, upfront quote.
We understand that Bromptons get used hard as everyday commuter and folding bikes, so honest signs of regular use aren't a problem, however we're looking for bikes with no structural damage.
It’s the same simple process as any bike, send us the model, age and condition along with a few photos via our online form or email us, and we'll come back with a fair, pre-agreed price.
Absolutely, if you'd rather trade up than take cash, we offer part-exchange as well as straight buy-outs. Let us know when you get in touch and we'll talk you through it.

We are quite selective in which bikes we buy. Key factors include:
- Cost at least £600 when brand new
- Must be from a reputable brand
- No structural damage, cracks or dents to the frame
- The only folding bikes we buy are Brompton’s
- We will NOT buy Carrera, Triban, Apollo, Planet X etc.
- We will NOT buy bikes over 9 years old, unless it’s a Brompton - We buy all Brompton’s regardless of age.
- We will not buy triathlon/tt bikes, unless it’s a Canyon Speedmax (rim or disc brake) or a Cervelo (disc brake only).
Your used bike may well meet our buying criteria, but there is still a chance we may not want to buy it. If you are unsure on whether your used bike ticks all the criteria boxes please don’t hesitate to get in touch - worst case scenario is we say: no thanks.

What Our Customers Think
Marcus’ Bikes is a gem in Clapham. Experienced, serious cyclist who wasted no time helping me with everything from finding the right frame, to tightening the loose shifting mechanism. Neighborhood bike shop that knows their stuff whilst being friendly and customer-focused. Save yourself a headache and call Marcus’ Bikes.
Eli Ouellette
Marcus is my go to for anything to do with my bike. I bought a Trek from him a few years ago and it’s still going perfectly, bought a second bike from eBay and I have had SO many issues with it, but thankfully Marcus saved the day every time!
Minnie Young
Marcus is a great guy that is clearly passionate about what he does. This was my first time buying a road bike and he was able to give great advice and context on what to look for based on my needs. He really knows his stuff and wasn't pushy in anyway. Overall a great guy and I'll definitely be going back to get my next bike!
